You Are Not Alone in This

I want to start with something simple.

You are not alone.

I know that sounds like something people write on greeting cards and forget by morning. But I mean it. I mean it in the way that only someone who has sat across from real, breathing, hurting human beings can mean it.

I started Pain2Purpose because I was tired. Tired of watching people carry weight that was never meant to be carried alone. Tired of the silence. Tired of the stigma that tells us that struggling means weakness.

Why I Started Writing

Mental health conversations in our communities — particularly in Nigeria — are often buried. People say, "Just pray about it." Or "Others have it worse." Or they look at you like something is wrong with you for daring to name what you feel.

I want this space to be different.

I want this to be the place where you come when you don't have words for what you're carrying. Where you find someone who says: I see you. It is okay to not be okay. And there is help.

What This Space Is For

Here, we will talk about grief. We will talk about relationships. We will talk about the quiet depression that smiles at people on Sundays and weeps alone on Monday mornings. We will talk about children who are different, and parents who don't know how to cope. We will talk about all of it.

Because silence has never healed anyone.

If you're reading this and something in your chest just exhaled — welcome. This space is for you.

"The bravest thing you can do is admit you need help — and then go get it."
